| Twirl.  Watercolor on handmade paper. 2012
Now you all know why I was pinning so many ballerina pictures on Pinterest.  This was painted using a black and white picture I found on the internet as my guide.  I had some trouble conveying the movement I wanted in her skirt and I think her right arm is waaaay too long but overall I am very pleased with how this turned out.  It was definitely not something I am used to doing.  I know a ballerina is not very original and likely to be in the company of many other dancers twirling this week but I really enjoyed doing something "scary."  This was the second peice of art this week that was outside my comfort zone.  See the other here.   |

ReplyDeleteI really like the ribbon feel of her skirt.

I think the length of that arm totally fits the feeling of the picture. Bravo for moving outside of your comfort zone! I push my writing students to do that all the time, but forget that I need to be doing that myself.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely picture.
Dear Rita, thanks for your comments! I like your drawing.
ReplyDeleteNice blog, I like how the gastronomy is integrated into illustrations ;-)
