Normally for Illustration Friday I like to create something new based on the word each week and I was doing just that (see below) when I looked at this peacock painting I did a while back. It's my imagining of Kauai with peacocks instead of roosters. This is a peacock enjoying the sunset of the Na Pali coast. Have you lived near peacocks? They are very loud and very vocal.

On the opposite end of the bird size spectrum is the hummingbird, perhaps not as loud but no less vocal. These guys love the Cape Honeysuckle growing outside my bedroom window and it never ceases to amaze me that such tiny creatures can create such a loud sound.
Oh my gosh, I have heard peacocks. And it is pretty dreadful! Fortunately I have never lived near one. I like the hummingbird painting. Are you going to color the hummingbird? Lovely job catching it in flight.

Your illustration is lovely, I like the background...I think I wouldn't mind the sounds of the birds if I could live in a place like that.
