I Sold A Painting to A Stranger!

I Sold A Painting to A Stranger!

Lots of my artwork hangs on walls in my own home and in the homes of friends and family but I had never sold a painting to a stranger until this past Christmas season when this little painting was purchased by a very nice couple.  Isn't that nice?

This one needs some more work...I'm kind of stuck with how to jazz it up.  I just keep staring at it...
I have not been very productive in the art department lately.  Every time I start something I think "this is it, I'll break my rut," but then...I don't.  I'm joining in Paint Party Friday.  It's been forever since I've linked up and I've missed the interaction and inspiration!

  1. Wow- how exciting to sell a painting. I don't mind your unfinished piece how it is. Maybe a few waves, a little boat near the mountains...the colors are so relaxing.

  3. Congratulations! It is always so rewarding when someone wants your art and values it!
Im loving all the blue. Its serene. I tend to have lots of colors going on in the underpainting. That way even simple scenes have lots of life. Go look out to your water, mountains, and sky. What colors do you see? (have you ever watched the movie: Girl with a Pearl Earring? There is a great scene where he is teaching her to see the colors in the clouds... take inspiration from that!)

  6. Congratulations, well done!
Blue is one of my favorite colors...my teacher in aquarelle course said I should add other colors (purple, greeen etc.) to make the painting more interesting (sea or lake painting)...but it's difficult for a control freak like me! :) But I try and try...not going to give up.
    Have a good week ahead!
