Current (and lifelong) Obsession

For the duration of the Olympics I have had my art supplies in the living room and I've been painting and drawing while watching TV.  My little art desk was looking dusty and sad so I cleaned it up and moved back in.  Here's what I have been working on lately...my current (and lifelong) obsession with Hungarian folk art.

sketchbook
watercolor and pen
acrylic on canvas pad
sketching a vignette from my mom's china cabinet
practice, practice

  5. I love your flower design--it looks like embroidery and I thought so even before I saw the piece it was inspired by. Looking forward to seeing the dolls finished too.

  12. Beautiful! I have collected some Mexican and Haitian folk art primarily because I love the vibrant colors. I've not seen much Hungarian folk art before finding your blog, but it clearly has that same richness and vibrancy. They are wonderful sketches. I also really like it when you do them on a page of a book - I am an avid reader, book lover, and writer, so those speak to me.
